Midsummer is upon us and it’s time to come and enjoy yourself for an evening of celebration that will leave you feeling deeply nourished and grounded. In our modern world, it can be tricky not to overdo it by flip flopping from hard work to excessive indulgence. Take this opportunity to learn how to indulge in a way that strengthens your base level of health and happiness.

A Vision of the Experience
In the late afternoon of midsummer Friday, you’ll make your way to Jessica’s healing sanctuary in North Berkeley; it’s a beautiful and inviting space with amazing natural light. Upon arrival you’ll be greeted with a warm smile and a refreshing herbal mocktail, giving you a chance to sink into the soft energy and relax. Once everyone has arrived and settled, enjoy a short talk on the importance of deep relaxation and how to make room for that in your life.
After the talk, you’ll enjoy a delicious dinner in good company to practice deep relaxation. It will be seasonally designed to give you a in your body sense of how to deeply nourish yourself. After dinner, you’ll have a chance to ask questions and refine your understanding of how to carry forward this experience into your life in the near future. You’ll go home with a smile on your face and gift bag of wellness goodies to inspire more relaxation practice that weekend!

Expertly designed to be delicious, seasonally appropriate, and easy to digest - this is a meal you won’t forget.
We’ll begin with some wok stir fried vegetables with some rich maitake mushrooms to whet your appetite.
Pan seared ginger pairs beautifully with a sauce made from broiled plums with ginger and soy sauce. Jasmine rice cooked with dates and pine nuts is dense and satisfying without being heavy. A light soup with chinese herbs refreshes the palate and aids digestion

Gabriel is an artisanal Ayurvedic chef, health coach, and Vedic astrologer. With a lifelong passion for food and history of digestive problems, he knows a lot about enjoying good food without overdoing it.
As a professional cook and chef, he learned how to make food taste really good. He rose to the position of executive chef at a young age at the Japanese restaurant Nuka on Maui. In the process, he worked way too hard, burnt out badly, and developed chronic health issues in his late twenties. That was the beginning of his journey of learning to cook healing food using an Ayurvedic framework.
He has been through a lot on his healing journey, and loves to share his knowledge of what is effective and what isn’t in an accessible way.
Today, he combines his unique background and talents to share with people how to make healthy living easy and fun. He loves to enjoy good company in a way that is deeply nourishing and relaxing.
Jessica is a Chinese medicine practitioner, ceremonialist, and mother of 1 with another family member arriving soon! Being around her is an invitation to ground and connect with the earth in a way that makes you smile.
She has been a long time devotee to supporting people through moments of transition and the times when we move between seasons is no different.
Jessica has worked in the food and service industry as a Program Manager for Whole Foods Market’s wellness programs and in restaurants while she was in college, grad school and trained as an acupuncturist. She has an in-depth personal knowledge of how food and the way we eat can support not only our health but the creation of our dreams as well.
She is a lover of summer, nourishment, pleasure and beauty, all in good measure that leaves you feeling happily satiated without feeling stuffed.
